Christmas is Coming!

Decided it is time to make some pretty little decorations for the Christmas tree - here is a smocked ball, the first of which I have used red cotton fabric & white #8 DMC thread to work the smocking stitches. Very effective. The next one I plan on using silk fabric with some gold DMC thread & pearls. It should sparkle on Christmas morning!

  1. Oh. How beautiful. Well done. Do you have a pettern or tutorial for that. I would love to make one. Michelle

  2. Yes. In Brisbane.

  3. I am VERY new to smocking and I thought that a small little project would be a good place to start. I am doing a class next month.
I have 3 boys but I really want to make one of these beauitful dresses that I am seeing all over the web. They look really hard.

  4. I have sent you an email regarding resources etc..

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. I would love to hear your comments on my work or perhaps one of the "babies" in the pictures. These special babies are the handy work of Janan who is a very clever USA reborning artist & does custom orders on request....... pop into her web site - links on the right - & check out the beautiful babies.

What a pleasure it is to sew & smock for the clever artists who create these lifelike 'babies'... amongst my valued customers is Selena Saxton of Toowoomba Australia who is very well known in the reborning industry for her original ideas in presentation & doll creativity.... well done Selena, it is wonderful to sew your designs...
