More dresses...

 Just completed all the hand applique on the hearts & they look so lovely on the bodice & around the skirt...all 100% cotton fabrics..

 More hand applique hearts on the bodice of this blue dress.. you would never guess that hearts are my favourite applique..

Angel Sewing...

 More tiny gowns for the "Angel" babies.. being an ongoing project there are always lots of tiny sewing happening in my sewing room... such a worthy cause & many lovely ladies have donated their prized Wedding gowns to help other families which is so kind of them.

Here are 27 little gowns & 25 bonnets - all cut from one huge wedding gown...they were so lovely with the laces & beading from the original gown all sewn onto them.

Just the hemline to do & this one is all done... so pretty with the 100% cotton burgundy check & sandy coloured homespun contrast.. the hearts finish the detailing so well... sized 4..

 Here is a pretty 100% cotton, smocked bodice, both back & front with black shoe-string straps & black bias trim on the skirt. Sized 4.

 A full smocked front bodice & both backs all smocked with green DMC thread to match the lovely green floral pattern in the 100% cotton fabric.  Finished with a zip at the back, bound neckline & red rick rack trim on the skirt.  Sized 4

Another 100% cotton sun dress with smocked front & back & finished with red rick-rack & red shoe-string straps for coolness. Sized 4.

Christmas Child Appeal.

Busy making simple dresses for the Christmas Child Box Appeal which will close in October... these little dresses, along with other items are sent to children less fortunate than some for Christmas.. imagine their excitement to open a box & see something especially made for them. These were made from donated fabrics & they button down the back.

Just completed.... two new sets with embroidered designs in matching thread to the smocking & pearls... such a lovely addition to the little outfits....

New Sewing Room

 Thanks to my wonderful hubby Daryl, I now have a fully functional sewing room & loving every minute of it! lol  Thankyou my darling..

Angel Babies Australia......

 Here are some tiny gowns made for the Angel Babies Australia group... we make these little gowns, along with keepsakes, rompers, bonnets, blankets & nappies & donate them to the families of tiny Angel Babies... these gowns are made from Wedding Gowns... such a perfect & fitting end to some of the most beautiful gowns.. for more information contact the group at "Angel Gowns for Australian Angel Babies" on Facebook... such a worthwhile cause & fantastic use of wedding gowns...  these 5 gowns were made from one wedding dress & there are another 6 cut out ready to go... we can get up to 20 gowns from one dress... amazing..

These are also for angel babies, using finer fabrics & smocking the neckline & sleeves... with matching bonnets & teeny bloomers go underneath to complete the sets..

Oh my goodness where has the time gone... we enjoyed 2 months traveling in the caravan from Central Queensland to the southern most point in Victoria along Great Ocean Road & had a wonderful time... I did smocking & patchwork along the way but nothing major... been so busy on our return. We have decided to sell up & move a little further South, towards the Toowoomba area so all the stops have been pulled out & the packing has almost been completed, house is being listed with the real estate so it has been a particularly busy few months.  Here are a couple of things I have completed since coming home but most fabrics etc have been packed in boxes till we move... can't seem to find anything!! lol.. 

This is one of 5 gowns I made for a client for reborn dolls. I have now joined up to make teeny dresses from Wedding Gowns for "Angel Babies". The gowns are cut into pieces & remade... they are gorgeous....

This is the progress to date on the Grandmother's Flower Garden quilt I was working on while traveling.

Hooty Owls...

Making children's clothing is such fun with all the gorgeous 100% cotton fabrics available today.  This one really caught my eye due to the big eyed Owls all over it, these are a child's delight at the moment & very popular with many Mummy's.. the sleeves & neckline are smocked with DMC thread in Red for the sleeves & Red & Black for the neckline.  The design around the neckline forms tiny hearts all the way around... this one is a size 2-3 yr ......

Christening Gown of cream lace & satin.

I think my most loved sewing experience is making Christening gowns - either smocked or lacey.  They are so pretty & dainty for that special occasion.  This one is made of lace overlay with cream satin underskirt & the sleeves have two rows of wide cream lace which matches the lace on the hemline & down each side front.... so pretty.

Pyjama Time!

 A selection of summer, winter, boy or girl pyjamas.  Monogrammed seems to be very popular at the moment.... and the colours are just lovely.

Stripes for Cool Summer Days.

This is made of 100% cotton & the stripe design lends itself really well to smocking... a fully smocked bodice & lovely cute puff sleeves finish the details nicely.
