Christmas Wishes

Where does the time go.... one minute it is New Year & then it is Christmas again the next year! Not sure where this year has gone but looking back over the 12 months I can see many blessings have been bestowed upon me... lots of new friends have appeared, more fabric & patterns have been purchased & some pretty creations have evolved...the New Year is only days away & already plans are underway for my 2012 collection . With the purchase of new "babies" from the USA, there will also be new clothing made to suit each individual baby.. keep posted ... in the meantime.....

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE.

Re-designed Wedding Gown

Thought I would do another wedding gown conversion.. this one was the most gorgeous embroidered net with a satin petticoat. By keeping the sleeves with the silk covered buttons & the buttons down the back I was able to use them in this new gown. I think you will agree, the end result is just lovely & making such a full skirt really shows the net embroidery off beautifully.. a CHRISTENING GOWN for future generations..

Dusty Pink Silk

Who would have thought that this dusty pink dupion silk would look so good with cream lace & cream pearls smocked into a romper, bonnet & shoes. It is the most gorgeous colour - my little "Honey" does the outfit justice.. the end result is quite stunning.

Silk Sets

My great love of silk fabric is no secret and these little rompers turned out so pretty for my reborn babies. The larger one fits a 20 inch 'baby' & the smaller ones only 13 inches. As a group they look so cute....

Bright & Bold

Here is another bright & bold set in my African series... so pretty for that newborn in your life. A smocked mopsy hat will protect

your little one from the harsh rays of the summer sun...

Pretty & Playful

Here are 2 pretty, bright & playful sets for the coming summer months. The lady beetles are appliqued onto the top & the ripple band is applied after to finish the hemline nicely. By using the contrast fabric for the lining in the top, the knots on the shoulders show two colours which is a very pretty feature of this pattern. The green & orange striped set will be lovely & cool for play. Both sets are made from 100% cotton for easy wear. These are both for size 2.

Wee Care Garments

Been a busy week, making some tiny garments for the local hospital. The larger two are for newborn & the 5 smaller ones would fit 25 week Angel Babies.... these particular gowns are made with long sleeves & are a little longer in length to cover those teeny limbs. The smocked Bishop neckline & smocked wrists give a better fit & look so sweet on these little darlings. The hospital give a set for burial which is a lovely gesture in the process of grieving for the parents to know that their little ones are taken care of..

Pale Blue Romper

An oustanding & different pattern from Debbie Glenn of the USA. I just loved making this romper in a very pale blue linen. Lovely & cool for the coming months. A manly style!

Another Bright Romper

Another in my "bright" series, a romper this time using a black insert with bright yellow smocking for the front, lined with the black & also both legs being bound in black for an even finish of the colours.

Mary De

This is a lovely dress made using the Mary De pattern from 'Children's Corner' in sizes 1-2. It closes at the back with two buttons in cross-over style. All 100% cotton with matched smocking in the colours of the fabric. A sun hat completes the set nicely.

Week of Bright Sets!

This week I have been working on some very bright sets for a newborn & toddler ... aren't they lovely. All made of 100% cotton & smocked with the colours in the fabrics to highlight them.

Perfect Pair...

Aren't these two just adorable in their silk sets. The pink has pearls smocked in with the design for a feminine frilly look & the blue for the boy is smocked without pearls & frills. The smocked cap finishes the set for a little boy....

Soft Blue Batiste

I love the result using blue batiste for this pattern. It is so soft. It is also lovely in blue dupion silk but shows a more structured result. Any little boy would look adorable wearing this little bubble...

Always Popular

For those into reborning, this particular romper is very popular as it suits the 1/4 limb babies & covers the body bags really well. It can be made with long or short sleeves & legs. This particular set is made of a very sheer light pink fabric & the adding of cream pearls & white laces enhances this already gorgeous set.

Shyann in Pearls

Doesn't Shyann look divine in this white clipped cotton romper with pearls? Such a pretty 'baby', this sculpt is very popular.

Frills, Frills & more Frills...

This pink cotton set turned out to be the prettiest frilly set yet. With rows of lace across the bloomers for that added flair. A shaped collar with white hand embroidery which is also matching on the dress skirt. My little "baby" looks just cute as ever..

Adorable Giggles.

Here is my new "Giggles" sculpt - isn't she adorable? I made this special 'welcome home' pinwale corduroy romper for her. Remember she is only 12 inches long! Her long flight from the USA must have been traumatic but she was smiling when I opened the box... another cutie for my ever growing collection.

Blue Christening Set

Made of lovely soft blue dupion silk, this set comprises the romper with long legs, short sleeves & matching hat. The blue pearls worked with the smocking on the bodice are done in diamond shapes & outlined in white thread to emphasise the design. All piped in white it looks adorable.

Gorgeous Green.

This is a fine green & white spotted pinwale corduroy which lends itself perfectly to the coming winter chills. Long sleeves & legs for warmth & smocked in white to bring out the white dots.

Winter is Here!

One of my latest winter rompers for the coming cooler months. Made of a soft viyella with blue & red smocking & red buttons to finish..

Sleeve, Bodice & Skirt Embroideries

Coconut Iced

This dress made of ivory & pink dupion silk is spectacular now it is finished. With a pink sash at the front & ties at the back, matching pink for the hemline & sleeve bands. There is the matching coloured embroidery on the skirt, bodice & both sleeves. The hemline has tiny grub roses in pink with light green leaves worked at the peak of each scallop. More pictures of the sleeves & bodice to follow.

Soft Pink Batiste

This is such a pretty & dainty pink dress. All made of a fine fabric & scalloped around the armholes, neckline & hemline. With 2 buttons on the shoulders it is easily slipped over the head without having the back opened. A lovely cool little dress.

Letter or Bill Holder

Here is a great idea for those letters, accounts or stationery items - a patchwork hanging holder with 3 pockets for storage. I have made this one using the Log Cabin blocks for the 3 pockets. Fully lined & backed with yellow fabric, it is lovely & bright & such a useful item to have hanging in the kitchen.

Winter is Coming!

Here is a lovely crib set in white & lemon. The original pattern was featured in a Sew Beautiful Magazine & although I have used a different technique, the end result is the same. There is a matching lemon & white pillow case with 2 small ducks. This set makes a perfect gift.
