My version of  "Baby Cakes"...

Soft cream voile with lavender smocking & pink rose trellises... just perfect for a little girl.

The hemline is finished with bud roses every 15 cm around the twin needle trim which was done in pink & lavender to match the neckline...

The sleeves are also smocked & finished with the same pink roses... so dainty..

Ozzie Fun...

It has been a real true Ozzie week... clients have asked for some "Australian" fabric creations so here are 2 all done & ready to post. Covered in Australian animals which are unique to good old 'Oz' DownUnder...

Colourful Fun....

Been having some fun with a lovely pattern... the front bodice is smocked almost to the neckline & the backs cross over & have 2 buttons which hold the dress perfectly... and with matching bloomers & hem edges trimmed with the blue floral fabric, they are ideal for a toddler ..













The black floral with pink is the same pattern but I have added a strip of the plain pink to the top of the bodice & smocked it in black thread to highlight the black floral fabric... the bloomers are plain pink with matching bloomer edges made of the black floral fabric..

Gum Nut Baby Fabric...

Lovely set for a 20-22 inch reborn doll... using Gum Nut Baby 100% cotton fabric... There is a smocked Mopsy hat, bloomers & long smocked gown. May Gibbs is quite well known in Australia for her stories about Gum Nut babies.

A shirt for the little man in your life!

Such a lovely little cream linen shirt made from 45 cm of fabric.... Will fit 6 month old..

Pretty in Pink

Such a pretty combination of pink & dark brown spots with dark brown cupcake fabric... buttoned down the back & with 2 tucks & brown rick rack to highlight the hemline & sleeve edges.. Sized for a 3 - 4 yr ....

Rows of co-ordinating fabrics create a lovely affect..

Made of 100% cottons - this is so pretty with the tiny white dot on chocolate brown & the co-ordinating  light green toile.. the finishing touches of chocolate rick rack around the bottom of the skirt & the brown Daisy's for the bodice & neckline complete it beautifully...

Seeded Cotton with pink Smocking

Another summer dress... smocked bodice with grub flowers around the waist hearts.  Lovely & cool for the hot days ahead..

May Gibbs' Gumnut Babies...

Perfect May Gibbs design with tiny Gumnut babies all over the fabric... Looks so pretty in this smocked bodice dress for a 3 year old.. We even found a matching cup, saucer & teaspoon with the same Gumnuts....

Operation Christmas Child.

The Gladstone Church Craft Group have donated the month of September to make items for the Christmas Child boxes. Here are a few little dresses I have made for the appeal.  The ladies have been wonderful helping with threading elastic into the skirts & shorts, knitting & crochet of bags & beanies. These items are distributed to needy children at Christmas & the shoe boxes contain a multitude of little items for them... thankyou ladies for your help..

Nothing beats the lovely, delicate, fine white sets for reborns or newborns, & adding pink grub roses gives clothing that personal & feminine look. This is a romper with matching bonnet.

I have been so busy lately, which reflects in my absence on  here...

 decided to take some time to use up fabrics from my stash & these three were from yesterday's search through.  Pretty for smaller little girls... Just need to take up the hems & they are ready to go.

Matching Pair

The perfect pair - a matching ABC bubble & cotton wrap for the newborn. The alphabet is all hand worked with tiny grub stitches, using green leaves & two toned flowers throughout.....

Yummy as Chocolate!

Two gorgeous reborn babies, 20 inch Shyann & 13 inch Tiny Sleeper.. dressed alike in chocolate Thai silk bubbles with cream DMC smocking & plaid piping on the bodice, sleeves & leg bands. Just perfect for little "boy reborn babies"....

Dupion Silk is an absolute delight to work with & here is the latest custom gown all ready for my friend. I have used rich cream guipure laces for the sleeves, neckline & hem. The double bow machine embroidery enhances the skirt of the gown & was worked in the same cream silk thread to highlight the colouring. The neckline is smocked with salmon pink DMC thread & cream pearls. Made for a toddler reborn doll, it will be spectacular on the display table.

Ecru Silk

Another beautiful Dupion silk set in Ecru with white laces for trims. The wide hemline of Guipure lace finishes the gown with that look of royalty. Rich cream ribbon ties on the bonnet add to the set nicely.

Blue Dupion Silk Set.

A scrumptious blue Dupion silk gown & matching bonnet,. Finished with rich white guipure laces on the hemline, sleeves & bonnet edge. Just perfect for a 20 inch reborn. All machine embroidered down the front of the skirt in a matching blue shade of silk thread. The patterns are a bow & basket with flowers spilling out over the fabric...

Silk seems to be the favourite fabric at the moment & this light green came up a treat with embroidery on the skirt & grub roses around the smocked neckline. Finished with a wide, rich guipure lace to match the sleeves...

This is the prettiest lavender dupion silk gown. With a lace collar all smocked & embroidered skirt with matching white voile scalloped lace hemline. A stunning outfit for a toddler..

A gorgeous pale pink dress with hand embroidered lilac flowers & matching lilac ribbons. Finished off with white cotton laces... such a pretty & delicate dress for a toddler...

This set was an absolute labour of love.. made of fine batiste with hand embroidered bows & flowers on the skirt of both petticoat & gown, worked with one strand of white DMC thread. The laces were hand dyed with coffee & feature tiny bows. Can't wait to see the baby wearing this set....

Doll Show Preparations.

Smocking & sewing for a HUGE doll show.

A magnificent smocked set of Gown, Bonnet, Bloomers, Booties & Mittens all with lilac & lemon grub roses worked throughout the items. The gown bodice is from the AS&E "Cupcake" design. I have added a tuck & scalloped shape to the skirt with grub roses at each peak to give that continuity of pattern look.

This was the prettiest pram blanket - made to match the quilt.

Something very special in the making...  a gown & matching bloomers will be coming soon...so pretty in pale pink - all stitching is done with one strand of DMC thread...so dainty..!
