 Two more little Batik dresses almost ready for sale at the Craft Spectacular.. so pretty mixed with plain homespun.. I loved the Sunbonnet Sue applique which finished this one off beautifully... more coming soon!

Batik Beauties..

 Time to commence the dress sewing for our Craft Spectacular in October & here are two little size 1 dresses all ready to go.  The Batik fabric was donated & by using cream seeded cotton as a mix, it has 'broken up' the heavy green design beautifully & made it perfect for little ones... these are 'one-of-kind' designs...

So pleased with my 1st Place for the silk ribbon embroidered booties & a 2nd Place for my Candle Wicked quilt.. at our local Mt Larcom Show a few weeks ago.

Gorgeous Green

So pleased with the latest little newborn set.  In gorgeous pale green voile with matching pink grub roses & frilly bloomers.. what a fashion statement!..

Beautiful in aque blue silk

The camera doesn't catch the colour exactly... it is a blue aqua shade of heavily slubbed Dupion silk.. I have smocked the sleeves, neclkine & bonnet in the blue thread with the white pearls highlighted against the blue/aqua background fabric... to finish I have used a vivid white guipure lace on the hemline, sleeves & bonnet edges.  Looks fabulous..

Salmon Pink ..

Turned out beautifully... difficult to capture the gorgeous salmon pink Dupion silk shade properly.. it is really enhanced by the ecru & cream Guipure laces & beaded overlay design on the skirt... very pleased with this one.

Two more sets all done & dusted..

There is no doubt that wide, rich, Guipure laces finish off a garment beautifully.  These sets are both heavily smocked with pearls on the neckline, both sleeves & the bonnets. A matching white embroidered motif on the skirt of the 'Duck-egg blue" dupion silk gown finishes it  to perfection.  These are all sets in readiness for 'reborn babies' in the USA. Only 6 more sets to do ....

Tiny Silk Ribbon Embroidered Shoes.

 Silk ribbon embroidered shoes, nothing more dainty & stunning for a "Naming Day" ceremony or Christening.  These have been worked onto "Sea Mist" Dupion silk with pink, blue & light green detailing. Pale green ribbons complete the project.

Little Lemon Butter Baby!

 

Magnificent result, even better than I expected. Bling & more bling for this set... tiny crystal pearls for the neckline smocking, sleeves & bonnet edging. Guipure lace for the hemline in a matching, rich, cream shade. Satin edged organza ribbons for the bonnet & gown.. & hand beaded skirting details, this is perhaps one of the prettiest sets I have ever done in this lovely Dupion silk..

Almost tiny shoes!

 Been busily silk ribbon embroidering a pair of tiny reborn doll shoes. They are worked onto "Sea Mist" Dupion silk.  Today should see them completed with ribbons & ready for the Show.

Christening Gown

A beautiful white, self striped, voile gown using pearls, smocking, lace collars, heart shaped lace inserts on the sleeves with lace insertion for the sleeve bands. Any baby would look adorable wearing this one...A lovely heirloom for generations to come...
